Proposal & Planning

Proposal

Rationale

Within the last year of my training I have acquired new skills and techniques, including : Devising, lifts, frantic assembly techniques, Katie Mitchell’s six steps to high quality acting, Merce Cunningham’s chance procedure, script analysis, monologues, line learning, screen acting, marks, audio cues, subtext, connect effect disconnect, improvisation, movements from gesture, verbatim, ballet, tap dance, articulation, and breathing techniques. Theses skills have enabled me to have a wider range of knowledge in creating theatre/characters. Some skills & techniques have also made me more analytical with my work. knowing how to analysis my work correctly has helped me develop as a more detailed performer, allowing me to add a higher level of detail into my performance of acting and into my preparation to a role.

Project concept

Within this term I will be collaborating with the HND students,Charity,Sorcha and Chloe, to create selected scenes from Pronoun and DNA to perform at the Scratch Night venue in Croydon. Their Roles will be as my directors and my role will be as one of their actors. My Aims for this Project is to deliver on all my directors needs, whilst at the same time expanding my range as an actor in the process. This will have me sticking to a timetable, following commands and having my own creative input to help create a more rounded characterised performance. This will also have me researching into other acting styles other than naturalistic for e.g. Slapstick,Comical, and some of their practitioners as well as things relating to the projects source/topic.

Evaluation

I will deliver this research in the form of a WordPress, this will consist of session reflections of my current training that help me as an actor/collaborator, as well as written/video information on practitioners/source material and other things relating to the Project.
